Arthur William Matthew “Art” Carney (November 4, 1918 – November 9, ) was an Academy Award - and Emmy Award-winning American actor in film, stage, and radio. Carney portrayed the upstairs neighbor and sewer worker Ed Norton, opposite Jackie Gleason's Ralph Kramden in the famous situation comedy The Honeymooners.
