The show was one of the longer running juvenile shows. It first aired on CBS, Jul. 31, 1933 - Apr. 24, 1936. It moved to NBC for a good run, Aug. 31, 1936 - Sep. 26, 1941. Mutual then picked up the show,
Sep. 29, 1941 - Jul. 3, 1942. The Blue Network/ABC then took over the show, Aug. 31, 1942 - Jun. 28, 1951. Wheaties cerial sponsored the show thru it's entire run.
Jack Armstrong waa portrayed by Jim Ameche, 1933-38, Stanley Harris, 1938, Frank Behrens, 1939, Charles Flnn, 1939-43 and again 1944-51, Rye Billsbury, 1943-44. St. John Terrill also was Jack Armstrong, but the
exact date is unknown. Others were: John Gannon as Billy Fairfield, 1933-43, Roland Butterfield as Billy Fairfield. Murray McLean and Milton Guion were also cast as Billy. Dick York as Billy in postwar years.
